Remembering Harry Billinge: One Year On

We remember and pay tribute to D-Day Veteran and Fundraiser Harry Billinge on the first anniversary of his death with a floral tribute on Harry’s bench.

Harry died a year ago today, on 5 April 2022.

He raised more than £50,000 for the Trust by collecting in his hometown of St Austell and was a champion of the regular giving Guardian Programme. His family asks that anyone who wishes to honour his legacy becomes a Guardian of the British Normandy Memorial in Harry’s name.

In October 2021, a few months before his death, Harry visited the Memorial for the first and only time. This film encapsulates his journey with the Trust from his early days of fundraising and to his very special visit to the completed Memorial.
