HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Field Ambulances were units that provided medical treatment close to the combat zone. 200 Field Ambulance was attached to 50th (Northumbrian) Infantry Division.
The unit was due to land at intervals from 07:45 on Jig Green sector, Gold Beach but the first sections were late in arriving due to the rough sea and ended up on the wrong beach. He was killed as he landed on the beach.
