Harry's Virtual Collection Bucket
In the midst of the Coronavirus crisis, 94-year-old D-Day Veteran and fundraiser Harry Billinge is self-isolating with his wife Sheila at his home in St Austell, Cornwall. He is keeping well at home and says that the crisis is “a very good thing to draw people together, and realise that we don’t live just for ourselves but for other people.”

Despite having reached his initial goal of raising £1 for each the 22,442 names to be included on the Memorial, prior to the crisis Harry was still fundraising every week at Par Market.
Supporters of Harry can continue to show their gratitude to him for his incredible fundraising endeavours by contributing to Harry’s virtual collection bucket.
The British Government has generously provided funding for the building of the British Normandy Memorial, in addition to kind donations from the public.
Further support will allow the Trust to complete the Memorial to a truly fitting standard and provide for the completion of the memorial sculptures and fine art features, the memorial walkway and additional landscaping to add to the beauty and tranquillity of the setting.
When construction at the site in Ver-sur-Mer is complete, the Trust will be moving into the second phase of the project to deliver a world-class Education and Visitor Centre, which it is hoped can be delivered by the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in 2024.
