Arthur James Pritchard

Arthur Pritchard (service number 5570646) attended Amesbury Church of England School. He was formerly a member of the Territorial Army and was serving with the 4th Battalion, the Wiltshire Regiment in Normandy.
He was killed on the 7th July 1944 and is buried in the Bayeux War Cemetery. Pte. Pritchard’s oldest brother, Clifford was serving with the RAF in the Middle East at the time of his death. His parents, George Holloway and Alice Pritchard, lived in Church Street before moving to a bungalow in London Road at the junction with Kitchener Road.
