The Memorial Site Inauguration

On Thursday 6 June, the site of the British Normandy Memorial will be inaugurated by the British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The leaders will lay wreaths at the Foundation Stone and the D-Day Sculpture, designed by British sculptor David Williams-Ellis.

The ceremony, overlooking Gold Beach in Ver-sur-Mer, will be broadcast domestically across the BBC and ITV, as well as internationally, and signals the start of the construction process.

Trustee Nicholas Witchell has this update from the site in the village of Ver-sur-Mer.
