Summer Guided Tours of the Memorial

The British Normandy Memorial has partnered with the Gold Beach Tourism Office to offer guided visits throughout the summer of 2022.

The British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer stands in memory of the 22,442 men and women who died on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy in the summer of 1944. It is a place to come and reflect upon the sacrifices that these young men and women made and to learn about why they were prepared to put everything at stake to secure the liberty and freedom of western Europe.

The Gold Beach Tourism Office has assembled a team of tour guides to enhance your visit to the Memorial: they will share the story of the landings and bring to life some of the names inscribed on the stone pillars of the Memorial; they will provide an overview of the Battle of Normandy and explain the vital role that the soldiers under British command played in this pivotal battle; and they will tell the story of the construction of this significant new Memorial on the Normandy coastline.

Tours are offered in English and in French starting at the top of each hour between 14:00 to 18:00 every Tuesday during July and August. Whilst it is possible to simply turn up at the Memorial and join a tour, we strongly recommend booking to ensure there is sufficient space in your tour group – and check that it is offered in your preferred language!

The Gold Beach Tourism Office tours are the only tours developed in partnership with the British Normandy Memorial.

** Tickets cost €5 for adults or €3 for 6–17-year-olds. Children under 6 go free. **

Reservations can be made by emailing [email protected] or by calling +33 (0) 2 31 80 67 08.

The money raised contributes towards the maintenance of the British Normandy Memorial.

Please note that this is a walking visit. All paths and surfaces are fully accessible to wheelchairs.
