Harry Billinge's Special Screening of Memorial Opening

BBC Breakfast organised a special screening for D-Day Veteran and fundraiser Harry Billinge, outside Par Market near St Austell, where he regularly continues to collect for the Memorial.

The Ministry of Defence organised a Guard of Honour for Harry, made up of servicemen and women from Devon-based 24 Commando Royal Engineers. And Par Market presented him with a £1,000 cheque for the Normandy Memorial Trust.

The Trust captured the special day – one that means so much to Harry after three years of hard work fundraising. As he said, “I’ll be there, even if I have to swim there!”

We look forward to bringing you the continuation of Harry’s story as he continues to fundraise and before long visit the Memorial for himself.
