After a two-week process involving more than 30 volunteers, the Standing with Giants installation is now ready to visit at the site of the British Normandy Memorial.

The art installation will be in place until end of August 2024 and is free to visit along with the Memorial itself.

The installation features 1,475 silhouettes representing the. number of servicemen who lost their lives on 6 June 1944, as well as 50 French resistance fighters around the French Memorial and the two nurses, Sisters Mollie Evershed and Dorothy Field, representing the only two women among the 22,442 names engraved on the Memorial.

Mervyn Kersh – pictured below –  Normandy Veteran and Memorial Ambassador was the first Veteran to see the completed installation on Thursday 18 April.
