ARMED FORCES DAY SUPPORT FOR BRITISH NORMANDY MEMORIAL

The Normandy Memorial Trust was delighted to take part in the Leeds Armed Forces Day celebration on the 29th June. Hosted by the Lord Mayor of Leeds, this free event celebrated the courage and contribution of the Armed Forces past and present.

The Trust was kindly hosted on the day by the Borneo and Malaya Veterans Association who helped to raise awareness and funding for the creation of the British Normandy Memorial.

Over £800 was raised from visiting members of the public for the Memorial, and we were delighted to meet D-Day Veteran Jim Bowls who was so happy to hear of our campaign to ensure that all those who never made it home from the shores of Normandy – will never be forgotten.
