Hugh Owen Jones

Hugh Owen Jones was born in Llandudno in May 1915 and attended Lloyd Street and John Bright Grammar Schools, before joining the Royal Welch Fusiliers as a signaller. He later transferred into the Royal Scots Fusiliers.

Jones was killed while his battalion took part in ‘Operation Bluecoat’ on 4 August 1944, aged 29. He is buried at Bayeux British War Cemetery.
