Stanley Walker and crew of Halifax LW638

Pilot Officer Stanley Walker and his crew, 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force were in one of the many hundreds of aircraft flying in support of D-Day, 6 June 1944. They are also part of the story of the memorial site itself:  their aircraft was sent on a mission to attack the Mont Fleury Battery sited near Ver-sur-Mer ahead of troops landing on D-Day.
