The Birmingham Mail of 12 August 1944 published an in memorium notice following his death. In it we learn a bit more about his family: "Snowzell, George (Pte) of Hereford, died of wounds, France, August 1944, dearly beloved brother of Maude and Nellie. At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember him."
