VE Day 80 National Golf Auction

The Normandy Memorial Trust is proud to support the VE DAY 80 National Golf Auction — a special fundraising initiative dedicated to ensuring that the legacy of all those who served and fell during the Normandy campaign is never forgotten.

In 2024, avid golf enthusiasts raised £64,250 in support of the British Normandy Memorial, marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The current auction aims to raise a further £35,750 to reach a remarkable total of £100,000 across both the D-Day and VE Day 80 commemorations.

You have the opportunity to bid for one or more prizes  – 2,3 and 4 balls at some of golf’s most exclusive venues.
Prizes also include a 3 ball at Sunningdale Golf Club playing alongside Hollywood & Scotland’s finest – actor Dougray Scott. As well as an opportunity to play with BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty at Moor Park Golf club.

Bids are invited between 09:00 BST Saturday 3 May until 18:00 BST Sunday 11 May 2025. The full list of prizes and guidelines on bidding can be viewed here.

All funds raised will directly support the Memorial’s education programme — a core mission of the Trust and a cause close to the hearts of many Normandy veterans. Their enduring wish was that future generations should understand the scale of their sacrifice and the values they fought to defend.

This initiative is a fitting tribute to all who served — honouring their memory not just in stone, but through learning and remembrance.

In memory of Harry Billinge MBE and many other veterans who campaigned and fundraised tirelessly to make the Memorial and Education Centre a reality – please join us in helping to continue their legacy through education.
