Frederick Anthony Forster

Remembering Frederick Anthony Forster, Sgt, air gunner, aged 31, son of Frederick Robert and Nellie Susannah Forster, husband of Mary Alleyne Forster, of Liskeard, Cornwall. He was killed on his 2nd mission attacking Orleans. Cause of loss not established. The aircraft crashed at 0200 on the 5th July 1944 onto the Rue Baciere St-Mark at Orleans.

A Royal Canadian Air Force Casualty Officer wrote on the 7th June 1945 to the mother of one of Frederick's other crew members, Blair Vipond, who was killed. He informed her that further information had been received about him from M. and Mme Michel. It stated that the aircraft had been hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed in the commune of Fleury les Aubrias, Orleans. Mme Michel stated that the organization, of which she was president, was caring for his grave.
